California based photographer and artist Maura Brennan Valentine's creative and prolific photography pays homage to the beauty of nature, and to the lifestyle of California and the West.
"Much of my work explores unique imagery made with panoramas and multiple exposures. I use a simple, plastic medium format camera called the Holga for most of my film images. Many images are made on my iPhone as well.
My black and white silver gelatin photographs have been photographs have been printed in the darkroom.
I studied Studio Art at SUNY at Cortland, and University of Texas at Austin. I took photography classes at Valley College, and was an assistant at Los Angeles Center for Photography. My photographs have been in exhibitions throughout the United States. I am a wife and mother of three, grandmother of 9. Born in Tucson, I currently reside in Los Angeles."
